He will be greatly missed by all the members of our Company and fellow brothers & sisters. Members of Summit and Pioneer Pole Buildings are in the process of giving the Fire Station a face lift. Insulation and metal siding will be placed on the building. Due to the recent storms that came thru Schuylkill County, Summit was also effected by them. The fire company had damage to the shingled roof, and storm doors. The Firefighters from Summit held their 1st Annual Christmas party. The crew got together at the Hall to enjoy a meal and refreshments, and just to have a great start to the holiday season. Firefighters also voted on a Firefighter and Fire Officer of the year. Congratulations to Summit Station Firefighter Neil & Jeanna Witman on the birth of their first baby girl. Allison Rose was born December 2 at 1018 hours weighing in at 5 lbs 15 oz, 18 inches long. Fire Districts 34 & 58 were toned out for a reported structure fire, reported to be in the chimney at 67 Moyers Station Rd. in Washington Township. Rescue/Engine 34-55 was the first to sign on the air, under the command of Chief 34-05 (W Heffner) and Chief 34-06 (C Krause). As fire units were on the scene from the Cressona fire, units were toned again for a reported building fire at 1478 Route 61 in North Manheim Twp. Units from Pottsville and Minersville were first to arrive to find a working basement fire at the ChineseBuffet the old Dusel Fink Building. As Rescue/Engine 34-55 was clearing the medical call, District 41 and S.H.F.D. were toned out for a reported building fire at Front & Railroad Sts. in Cressona Boro. Chief 730 (J Reed) was the Duty Chief for Haven, was advised that there was heavy smoke coming from the Cressona Textile building.
