MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH ON FAIR AND RT183

At 11:43am Summit Station was dispatched to South route 183 and 34 Fair road to a vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Fire / Rescue 34-15 was immediately on scene. 34-06 (J. Fenstermacher) was in command. The scene consisted of 2 vehicles which collided at the red light. There were injuries in both vehicles. Members assured scene was safe as they also cared to the injured. Members were on scene for 1 hour.

 
   
   
 
DIRT BIKE COLLISION ON MOYERS STATION ROAD

Summit Station was dispatched at 8:06pm to 882 Moyers Station road for a vehicle accident with injuries. Fire / Rescue 34-15 responded. 34-06 (J. Fenstermacher) assumed command. The scene was a collision of 2 young dirt bike riders a quarter mile up a dirt road. The crew attended to the injured children and transported them by pickup to Moyers Station road to be transported by ambulance. The crew was on scene for 45 minutes.

 
   
   
 
MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT IN FRONT OF LAKE

Summit Station was dispatched at 11:26am to a vehicle accident at RT183 and Navajo drive. Fire/Rescue 34-15 arrived with 34-05 (J. Ulsh) in command. Members found a motorcyle was involved in a single vehicle accident. The motorcyle and driver sustained minimal damages/injuries.

 
   
   
 
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP CHIMNEY FIRE

Station 34-2 dispatched to 4 Kurtz Road for a working chimney fire. 58-10 on scene with fire showing from the chimney. 34-15 responding with a short crew, 34-06 asked for SHFD 2 to respnd for manpower to assist 34-15. 34-15 on scene to assist with removing the contents from the wood burner. Engine 732 cancelled once 34-15 on scene to find no need for further manpower. 58-10 crew had the roof and 58-25 laddered the building. 34-15 released after 30 minutes on scene.

 
 
REPORTED FIRE IN 39 AREA

Station 34-2 dispatched to 242 Orchard St for th E & T Pizza Shop in Auburn borough for a reported working fire. 34-15 responding with 5 advised that fire to be reported on the second floor. While responding Chief 39-03 on scene with smoke showing from second floor. Further investigation uncovered a dryer fire to be out. All units cancelled except 39-10. 34-15 cleared and available

 
 
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP WORK

Stations 34-1, 34-2, 58-1, 58-2 dispatched to 15 Fiddlers Road for a working house fire. 58-06 on scene with a working house trailer fire. All units arriving started to work the fire from exterior due to high volume of fire. Exterior operations stopped and a crew from 34-15 made the basement to knock fire in the basement area and thru the floor to the upstairs area were the floor was already burnt out. A second line was advanced into the upstairs by a crew from 58-10 and 58-15. Crews handled the fire quickly and spent time overhauling. All crews worked great together and all units cleared. LUCKENBILL ROAD DOUBLE FATAL

Station 34-1 dispatched for a one car MVA rollover with ejection. 34-04 on scene and advised he needed aero-medical. This request brought a dispatch for station 34-2. 34-06 on scene and had the helicopter waiting for the engine to arrive to land. 34-15 on scene and established a landing zone for Life Flight 5. Crew from Lif Flight 5 taken to accident scene by 34-05 to assist the medics working a trauma code. After a decision by Ems it was decided the the helicopter was not needed and released the crew. 34-15 stood by until the helicopter took off and then remained on scen for traffic control. 34-15 cleared after about one hour and returned to service. CHIMNEY FIRE IN 34-1 BOX

Stations 34-1 and 34-2 dispatched to 152 Schuylkill Mt Road for a chimney fire. 34-15 off the floor within one minute was advised of a chimney fire andd all occupants leaving the residence. 34-07 on scene and advised fire to be out. 34-10 on scene and sent manpower inside and to ladder the roof. 34-15 on scene to split crew and send manpower inside and to the roof to check for extension. WORKING FIRE IN 34-1 BOX

Units dispatched for a working fire at 1390 Long Run road in the 34-1 box area. 34-02(Fidler) on scene with a working fire. 34-10 and 34-15 on scene to take first and second in engine assignments. 34-15 crew took a line into the first floor kitchen area were a large amount of fire was encounterd. Engine 737 crew on scene to take a second line into the basement area to find fire in the utility room in the area of the oil burner. While hose crews put a knock on the fire, additional crews started opening up the walls and ceilings. Quick work was made of the fire, and crews started overhaul. Special thanks to M.L.K. ROLLOVER ON RT 183

Station 34-2 dispatched to South Rt 183 near the Berks county line for a 1 car rollover with injuries. 34-05 on scene with all patients out of the vehicle and no injuries. 34-15 on scene to control traffic and standby until vehicle removed. Vehicle was removed by Moyer's Towing and all units cleared the scene.

 
 
ARSON FIRE AT THE LODGE

Station 34-2 dispatched to the Lake Wynonah Lodge for an AFA. 34-06 on scene to find building filled with smoke and fire around the front door. 34-06 requested a working fire dispatch bringing Friedensburg(34-1), Liberty(SHFD-4) and Rainbow(SHFD-1). 34-15 on scene and gained entry to find a small fire in the area of the front door and wall. Fire was quickly handled by 34-15 crew while E-737 crew opened up the exterior front wall. Ladder 725 set up and checked the roof area to make sure it did not run the walls. Wayne Township Fire Marshall(Chief 34-1) was asked to contact PSP Fire Marshall due to the fire having multiple points of origin. No further services were needed and all units cleared. CRASH IN THE ICE STRORM

Station 34-2 dispatched to 1632 Fair Road for and accident with no injuries. 34-15 enroute and told by dispatch that fluids down no injuries. 34-15 on scene to find car into pole and nobody around the vehicle. The crash happened the night before and was never reported. 34-15 cleared with nothing needed.

 
 
CRASH IN 34-1 COVERAGE AREA

While responding to the previous crash 34-95 came upon a one vehicle accident on Schuylkill Mountain Road. Due to 34-15 already being on the street they added themselves on the call to assist. 34-95 reported one Jeep with one female inside not trapped but in and out of consciousness. 34-15 on scene and packaged patient and removed her to the rear floor of the engine. Medic 68-04 arrived and care was transfered to medics. 34-15 stood by until Moyers Towing removed the vehicle. 34-15 cleared with no further services.

 
   
   
 
MOVE UP TO BERKS 50

Dispatched on a move up assignment to Berks 50(Strausstown). 34-15 and 34-36 covered for company 50 while they worked a house fire on Schubert Road in Bethel Twp. No services were needed but we did have some good pizza from C & C pizza. Thanks to Strausstown Fire for the pictures.
